The World Bank
Infrastructure & Education CCS has over twenty-five
years experience in implementing ambitious solutions in the educational sector ,
CCS has been selected by the World Bank to implement wide-ranging projects on
their behalf in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Founded
in 1944, the World Bank Group is one of the world's largest sources of
development assistance. The Bank, which provided US$17.3 billion in loans to its
client countries in fiscal year 2001, is now working in more than 100 developing
economies, bringing a mix of finance and ideas to improve living standards and
eliminate the worst forms of poverty.
For each of its clients, the Bank
works with government agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and the private
sector to formulate assistance strategies. The selection of CCS hinged on our
flexibility, and on our capacity to deliver the highest quality of training and
skills transfer services to the World Bank's client, as well as making available
comprehensive technical assistance at all times. Networked World
CCS is a Jordan-based skills company with a profound grasp of the complex
mixture of skills needed to ensure success in large-scale operations in the most
far-flung environments. With the World Bank, we are now working to implement a
fully networked educational solution across a vast geographical area, to tie
together a broad spectrum of varied educational establishments into a
co-operative system.
The challenge is as much educational as one of
providing infrastructure, and for that purpose CCS knowledge-workers have also
been tasked to train end-user personnel in the complex technologies and
methodologies required to manage such a system. The CCS solution is designed to
facilitate the development of IT and technical skills, so that a new generation
can receive hands-on access to technology, as well as training, to become the
knowledge workers of the future.
From our inception in 1982, CCS have
been committed to educational technology and to delivering the best training to
equip people with the skills they need, and are pleased to be able to work with
such a prestigious client in such a complex and rewarding environment. The World
Bank's MENA Education Sector presently manages a portfolio of 22 projects at
various stages of preparation and implementation; this immense portfolio of
projects spans the full range of education levels, from early child development
to university education. CCS is pleased to contribute to the success of such
ambitious projects in this way, with education at the heart of the future
development of the region, and in environments where there can be no tolerance
of failure, to deliver the highest quality solutions.
